I pray for our president and that God will grant him wisdom as he seeks it. It is a great burden to bear the weight of a nation. No man can, but God alone. Right now things don't look good for many and we are looking for answers. Most importantly, I am encouraged by God's words to us, "Some may trust in horses (governments and strong economies) and some may trust in chariots (wars against oppressors to strengthen the peace) , but we will trust in the Name of the Lord Our God." It is so important that we remember, as things can rise and fall around us, that God is still strong and active in our world. I just want to remind everyone that he hasn't been proven a great leader just yet. He's talked the talk but he still needs to walk the walk. "Faith with out works is dead" just as speeches, rallies and celebrations without real change are meaningless. I pray that he lives up to the hype. The lure of power has corrupted the worlds most humble and well-intentioned people. I pray Obama doesn't fall to the temptation. The truth in America is that our system of checks and balances has gaping holes. A Senate shift here, a judge appointment there and you can puppet this country like Geppetto. Not to mention he has the favor of the fourth branch of government, the media. Come what may the Lord God is sovereign. Whether Obama soars or sinks he can only do what God allows.
