Desiring God in the Desert

God puts us all in a desert at some point in our lives. But the reality is, Christ has not deserted us He is defining us. Seek not to be hydrated from this world but long to be refreshed by him.

So the first Red Revolution conference, The Rising happened and what a rising it was. From the lyrical sold out message of the 116 clique to the literal call of following Christ coming from Afshin Ziafat and his life’s testimony, Jesus was truly exalted.
The conference took place in historic downtown Memphis, TN from March 15th -18th. The line up of artist ranged from soulful contemporary artist Ronnie Freeman, Jourdan Burks, Dawntoya to the 116 clique. Speakers included the gifted Eric Mason out of Epiphany fellowship in Philadelphia to Local teachers (Memphis, TN) such as Ben Parkinson and Kennon Vaughan. Adam Thomason (Vision caster/speaker for Red Revolution and The Rising) wanted an eclectic representation of Christ through music and gospel centered teaching to show a glimpse of the vast yet beautiful nature of God. This was not only accomplished but it was supernatural. More
Walk a mile in these shoes “fashion fighting injustice…”
With over 27 million slaves still existing in the world today, U.S. included and over three billion living on less than two dollars a day we at Red revolution could not sit silent and still call ourselves followers of Jesus Christ.
We at Red Revolution are excited to announce our first initiative, shoe initiative that is. That’s right Red Revolution is coming out with it’s own shoe. Not for the sake of fashion alone but for the sake of Jesus Christ. Let me explain. With my fashion design background and seeing one of the many epidemics of this world you get the above shoe design. The profits of this shoe will not go to support anyone’s lifestyle but toward fighting injustice and exalting the name of Jesus through places like “International justice mission and His voice for Sudan. Here are the facts. More
Obamanation…Obama’s nation
With the first day of work behind our new president and the buzz of the historic day dying down, reality will set in over the next days, weeks and years.
Obama’s message of hope and unity sparked all types of people from Asia to America, rising to top in twinkle of and eye. Between the craze over his message and what this meant for a nation historically from so many vantage points one is prone to think. This is Obama’s nation or the change that will happen will prove to be an “Obamanation”. More
Snapshots of…Suicide or Sacrifice?
Many people either loved this movie or hated it. With out being too Christian, knowing that Jesus did not write this movie I took it for what it was and enjoyed the point the writer was trying to make.
As you watch the movie for the first 45mins of it, it centers on the unknown and the awkward antics of the supposed “Ben Thomas”. You come to know after a while that he is a man living from pain and a mentality to do penance in order to escape a situation that involved a huge regret. More
To whom much is given
Luke 12:47-48
47 And that servant who knew his master’s will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating. 48 But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.
As we pass from one celebration of abundance in food and lifestyle (thanksgiving) to another in materials and things that will terminate on ourselves with Christ sprinkled on top (Christmas). I wonder if the Lord is peering down from heaven thinking, “this is the much I have in mind for those who eagerly await my return”. As I see a number of folks boast of the food they ate and threw away, myself included, even to the glory of our Lord, I can’t stop the conviction of God’s word in my soul “…much will be required”.
