The Manifesto
Jesus
We believe that Jesus was the first and ultimate revolutionary. When he left heaven, becoming flesh amongst men in a manger, He created a standard for all who claim to follow him. We believe that Christ Jesus, being God, part of the Godhead is The risen Savior. That he indeed, by the shedding of his blood, pulled us out of darkness into his marvelous light. We believe this marvelous light is Christ Jesus alone. His deity, incarnation, life, work, word and resurrection should dominate every area of our lives. We believe that comfort, our earthly culture, race and preferences are not a guarantee when following Christ. They can certainly be used to exalt Christ but never take the place of him. We believe the standard of Christ cannot be lived apart from the power of the Holy Spirit that indwells believers.
Christ Followers
We believe that CHRISTianity is indeed its own literal race. Bringing people together from all walks of life, all nationalities, and all ethnicities giving them a holy identity in Christ Jesus. CHRISTians are a royal priest hood, vessels of God’s truth, the standard and change makers in society, locally, and globally. We believe that the gospel should not be limited to salvation, Sundays and quiet times. The gospel should infiltrate every area of our lives as we impact society. We are committed to exalting Christ and causing his truth to infiltrate culture.
The Christ (Red) Revolution
We believe that our country-as great as it is-should not be looked to for salvation. The world should be compelled to look us (CHRISTians-body of Christ) as the only living glimpse of salvation in which we then point them to Christ Jesus. We believe that heaven is a fulfillment of what can be pursued now. Our country has made great strides to pursue unity, love, justice, and freedom. But CHRISTians are the ones called to lead that charge not the world. True unity can only come and be lived through the power of Christ Jesus. True love can only come and be lived through the power of Christ Jesus. True justice can only come and be lived through the power of Christ Jesus. And ultimately true freedom can only come through the power of the Christ Jesus. We acknowledge that the history in this country is not perfect and that racism, prejudice, classism and tensions in its past have indeed filtered into the church. Though saddened by this reality, we are not surprised or disheartened but look to the only perfect one, Christ-to heal our past and forge our future as we emulate his perfect obedience to God the Father. We believe the church although marred by the sin and the past of this country is still God’s beloved bride; called to rise above what society embraces when it opposes Christ. We must embrace the past of our country through the grace of the cross. Believing that the schisms, which are present in the body, that have definitely affected society are not God’s design and can broken down before the return of Christ.
We believe that in order for Christ to be exalted in society, we, the church must first be one in spirit and in truth (doctrine and life). When this occurs we believe that a revolution of Christ can take place supernaturally, similar to that in the book of Acts, from education to the arts, from the courthouses, businesses to the human heart. The world yearns to see Christ-like love abound in culture and in those who call themselves Christian. There is hope. God’s mercies are new every morning in which we receive now, for all who name CHRIST JESUS as Lord to be able to rise and exalt Christ one to another in order to effectively exalt Christ in the culture.
