We rose!!!!

So the first Red Revolution conference, The Rising happened and what a rising it was. From the lyrical sold out message of the 116 clique to the literal call of following Christ coming from Afshin Ziafat and his life’s testimony, Jesus was truly exalted.

The conference took place in historic downtown Memphis, TN from March 15th -18th. The line up of artist ranged from soulful contemporary artist Ronnie Freeman, Jourdan Burks, Dawntoya to the 116 clique. Speakers included the gifted Eric Mason out of Epiphany fellowship in Philadelphia to Local teachers (Memphis, TN) such as Ben Parkinson and Kennon Vaughan. Adam Thomason (Vision caster/speaker for Red Revolution and The Rising) wanted an eclectic representation of Christ through music and gospel centered teaching to show a glimpse of the vast yet beautiful nature of God. This was not only accomplished but it was supernatural.

This conference tried to distinguish itself from being heavy theology with the absence of service and vice versa. The Rising sought to marry the two by keeping a tension between the proclamation of the gospel and the practice of it all while acknowledging that cost holds the tension between the two.

The Rising was less about coming to their brand of Christianity and more about uniting as one daily to flesh out Christ in the culture. This conference was unique yet powerful for our time.  Adam Thomason spoke truthfully when he said ultimately we celebrate  “THE RISING” of Christ from the dead and continue the revolution of him being born in the manger, with out it this conference and our lives are meaningless.
